KEW VINEYARDS |
Medium-deep red colour with a faint amber tinge. Intense, complex, gently earthy, slightly spicy, attractive, ripe plum-crancherry nose with some minerally, cedar-sandalwood-tinged, raspberry notes. Dry medium to medium-light bodied, very bright, slightly spicy, ripe crancherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, gently earthy, harmonious, cedar-sandalwood-tinged finish that shows good mid-palate structure. Great with a medium-rare roast beef. Aged 12 months, French oak (35% new), only 550 cases were produced by award-winning winemaker Philip Dowell. It has an actual 14.3% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. Screwcap closure and ready-to-drink. Showed well in the ISO glass. |

TASTING NOTE: This Pinot is perennially a refined, poised expression that demands attention. It shows lifted floral tones, with strawberry, raspberry, spice, dried fruit, earth, and a refined mineral note on the close. Try it with grilled duck. |
