CULMINA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2016 Golden Mile Bench, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CULMINA
NEW in Vintages - this is one of 11 Vintages Online Exclusives. Very deep intense purple colour with a hint of amber on the edge. The nose is rich, ripe and concentrated with lots of plummy-cassis-black cherry fruit and cedary, mocha-chocolate notes with a faint touch of spicy,, earthy, smokiness. Dry, medium-full to full bodied, well structured, very slightly spicy, concentrated, very ripe, plum-black-cherry fruit with some cassis notes and a lingering, very well structured, surprisingly complex finish. May still need time to evolve - perhaps another 3+ years. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon has 14% alcohol and under 1 g/L residual sugar with lot number 20180612 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TASTING NOTE: Oak aging for this wine is in 100% French barrels, 25% new, for 16 months. It shows a dense, deep purple colour in the glass with a nose of cassis, black currants, rich blackberries, dark chocolate, cedar and fine oak spices. It takes a more elegant turn on the palate with an integrated blend of blackberries, black currants, dark cherries, anise and fine oak spices to go with ripe tannins, firm structure and length through a finessed finish. Cellar 7+ years. Score - 92 (Rick VanSickle, winesinniagara.com, Sept. 29, 2020) Price $ 35.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
