SIR PASSO 2017 IGT Toscano Rosso |

DUCA DI SARAGNANO |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, intense, sandalwood-tinged, ripe plum nose. Faintly off dry medium bodied, spicy, bright, somewhat confected, raisiny, ripe plum flavours with a lingering, gently cedary finish. Has 14% alcohol and 13 g/L residual sugar with lot number L19133ZZ38/09:22. You can safely ignore the ludicrous Luca Maroni 98 score appearing on the bottle and on the front page of the Vintages Catalogue. Is there no shame on some of the Vintages catalogue writers? Why is there no LCBO oversight to stop using increasingly irrelevant scores? Most important - how can the use of such inappropriate scores be helpful to consumers, which you would hope would be part of the public monopoly's mandate. |

TASTING NOTE: Crafted in a modern style that will also appeal to lovers of New World wines, this has intense raspberry, cherry, ripe red plum, vanilla and raisin tones. Very approachable, with beautifully articulated fruit and fantastic presence and length.
