CUVEE VILLAGES XINOMAVRO 2021 PDO Naoussa
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KIR YIANNI
This specially priced 2021 is showing perfectly now. Medium-deep garnet red colour, the nose is bright and gently complex with ripe, Damson-plum-blueberry-cherry fruit with some faintly earthy, red licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, bright, plum-cherry-raspberry fruit flavours with a lingering, lifted, slightly savoury, sandalwood-tinged finish. This very tasty 100% Xinomavro was aged for 12 months in a mix of new and previous-fill French (90%) and American oak. This versatile crowd-pleaser has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L11023Y on the back label. Italian fans may well find it reminiscent of a Nebbiolo from Piedmont that might cost twice the price. CSPC 14151
