J. LOHR TOWER ROAD PETITE SIRAH 2021 Paso Robles |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

In 2020 after 30 years the LCBO suspended all preview Vintages tastings for accredited wine writers. Last year previews were reinstated for store consultants BUT wine writers were no longed allowed to attend. The LCBO's reply to a request for reinstatement said that we should get samples from producers and wine agents. It states that that our unpaid-for independent reviews no longer “best serve our (LCBO) customers.” Unable to taste. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2021 Petite Sirah Tower Road is a beauty, with an up-front, lush, yet concentrated, nicely balanced style. Blueberries, peppery herbs, scorched earth, and graphite are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins and beautiful purity. It's another impressive wine from this estate that would be one heck of a great steak house red. [Has the potential to cellar into the early 2040s.] Score - 91 (jebdunnuck.com, Aug. 30, 2023) |
