Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
|
This hefty, award-winning 2019 is made from Merlot vines averaging 50-years-old. It has a very deep purple-red colour with an intense, complex, gently earthy, still youthful, ripe Damson plum nose with some cedary, peppercorn and dark chocolate notes. Dry, medium-full to full bodied, dense and well structured, the intense, ripe, plummy, restrained black-cherry favours are followed up by a with a lingering, bright, minerally, gently grippy, cedar-sandalwood finish. Aged for 16 months in French oak, it has 14% alcohol and is best served in a large Riedel red Bordeaux glass. |
