Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer EISELE VINEYARDS
This new 2019 highly esteemed Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the Eisele vineyards on an alluvial fan near the northern end of the Napa Valley just east of Calistoga. Deep purple garnet colour. The intense nose shows elegant, ripe Damson plum, black cherry and cassis fruit along mineral-tinged, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied and well structured with fairly intense, ripe, Damson plum, black cherry and cassis fruit along with a lingering, gently spicy, complex, attractive, gently cedary, well structured finish. A class act that will still improve! It has 14.8% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 548297

TASTING NOTE: The 2019 Pickett is the second vintage of Eisele Vineyard's \"third\" label. A bit less was made this year than in 2018, since more of the production was used in the Cabernet Sauvignon and Altagracia labels. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose is incredibly vibrant at this primary stage, delivering intense scents of freshly crushed blackcurrants, red and black cherries and camphor, plus hints of tapenade and wild thyme. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of crunchy black fruits, with a chewy texture and savory finish. Drink date: 2021-2031.
