Bright medium-light straw colour. Intense, slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, floral, ripe apple, melon nose with some yellow grapefruit notes. Dry, medium bodied, very gently spicy, intense, ripe, apple-melon-lemon flavours with a tangy, unoaked, gently complex, mineral-tinged finish. A very attractive, well textured, surprisingly approachable 100% Pinot Gris. It has 13% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L214/23 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It was aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for about six months. Screwcap closure. This 2022 is the 15th release in Vintages under several different cspc numbers dating back to the 1999 released on March 10, 2001 at $21.80. |

TASTING NOTE: This classic Pinot Grigio's aromas flow out of the glass showing fresh orchard notes, white flowers, lemon drop candy and crushed stone. It's lively on the palate with the sprightly levity of lemon zest, green apple skin, wild green herbs and a zip of acidity. [Drink now through 2027.] Score - 92 (Jeff Porter, Wine Enthusiast, Nov. 1, 2023) |
