NUTTY SOLERA MEDIUM OLOROSO SHERRY DO, Spain
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GONZÁLEZ BYASS
Assessed from a fresh bottle just purchased at the LCBO. Medium-light golden amber colour. Very attractive, sweet, honeyed, gently citrusy, caramel-driven, toffee nose. Lovely, sweet, medium to medium-full bodied, spicy, plummy, intense, caramelized, toffee flavours with a lingering, maple-syrup-inspired, lifted, creamy, still bright, Seville orange marmalade finish. This very tasty bargain-priced REPEAT has 20% alcohol and 68 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L222351 on the back label. This delicious 11h Vintages release is one of the best to date. A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: The nose is all about toasted nuts, mocha, caramel, clove and allspice. The palate, while decidedly sweeter than any Fino or Manzanilla, is nicely balanced by the acidity, making it the ideal sipping sherry. It's not overly complex, but at this price point there's more than enough going on to keep you occupied. It will also, once opened, keep for a couple of weeks in your fridge. So no need to finish it all in one sitting. Score - 4 (out of 5). (Jamie Drummond, goodfoodrevolution.com, Feb. 10, 2017) Price $ 20.95
