PETITE SIRAH 2016 Lodi
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer IRONSTONE
A REPEAT of the 2016 (*+/**) was released on September 1, 2018 at $17.95. Here is my previous note: Extremely deep intense purple colour. Fairly intense, very slightly smoky, mocha-chocolate nose with lots of baked plum-cherry notes. Slightly off dry, medium-full bodied, dense, very spicy, clove-tinged, intense, plummy, mocha-chocolate flavours with a lingering, sweet, juicy finish. This commercial blend of 90% Petit Sirah and 10% Zinfandel has 13.5 alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17202 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 361915

TASTING NOTE: Intense and focused fruit flavors seem to light up this full-bodied, densely packed wine. It also shows generous and well-integrated oak shadings of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla that sit on mouthcoating berry flavors and are framed by fine-grained tannins. Best Buy.
