THE LEGENDARY BADGE PETITE SIRAH 2016 California
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BUENA VISTA
One of 103 items (68% of 152 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. A THIRD REPEAT of the 2016 (*+) that was released on March 17, 2018 at $17.95. Here is my previous note: Deep purple colour. Spicy, baked cherry nose with some cedary notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, somewhat sweet, shy, baked cherry-apple puree flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, cedary finish. Totally ready to drink. This California-designated Petite Sirah based blend has 14.5% alcohol and a hefty 15 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 545772

TASTING NOTE: Here's a typically inky, deep purple, petite sirah with rich soft nose of blueberry cheesecake with honey graham crust. Deep dark black rose florality as well, with a slightly meaty back note. It is full bodied by the pound, quite thick, a touch sweet and warm (14.5%), with quite firm, slightly green tannin typical of the variety. Quite meaty on the finish, with a dusty feel. The length is very good. Score - 88 (David Lawrason, winealign.com, March 26,2018) Price $ 17.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
