CHÂTEAU LA PIROUETTE 2016 AC Médoc
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Deep intense purple colour. Gently complex, slightly spicy, attractive, ripe plum-cherry nose with some bright sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid gently cedary, finish. Very nice now. This blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1 on the back label. TONY ASPLER / Best Buy - Deep ruby in colour; cedary, plum bouquet with oak spice and a light floral grace note; medium-bodied, dry, bright, gently savoury flavours of ripe plum and cherry and milk chocolate. Well-balanced and quite forward with ripe tannins. Drinking well now but will reward a couple of years’ cellaring. CSPC 644799

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: The 2016 Chateau la Pirouette, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, offers Bing cherry and wild strawberry on the nose, almost Saint-Julien-like in style. The palate is medium- bodied with firm, quite dry tannin, but there is plenty of black fruit here laced with cedar and undergrowth, a touch of mushroom on the finish. I appreciate the stylishness, the understated manner of this Bordeaux rouge, and it should give several years of pleasure at a very wallet-friendly price. Drink Date: 2018-2025.
