Fairly deep purple red colour. Slightly spicy, bright, ripe, plum-cherry purée nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, very ripe, rounded, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid cedar-sandalwood-tinged finish. This blend of 65% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre saw the Grenache and Mourvèdre aged in concrete tanks and the Syrah in barrels. It has 16% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar. Meanwhile, it sells for $64.50 at the SAQ. |

TASTING NOTE: Bright ruby. Intense cherry and red berry aromas pick up notes of incense, anise and lavender with aeration. Spicy, concentrated and focused on the palate, offering appealingly sweet raspberry, cherry liqueur and floral pastille flavors underscored by a vein of juicy acidity. Closes sweet and quite long, with harmonious tannins building slowly and folding into the juicy fruit. Score - 91-93 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, Dec. 2016) |
