PETITE SIRAH 2016 Guadalupe Valley, Baja California |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

L.A. CETTO |
This is one of 64 items (128 releases) not presented for evaluation under new LCBO policies. A REPEAT of the 2016 (*/*+) was released on October 27, 2018 at $12.95. Here is my previous note: Extremely deep intense purple colour. Spicy, juicy, sweetish black cherry puree nose with some cedary, tinny, tropical fruit cocktail notes. Somewhat sweet, medium bodied, spicy, baked plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, faintly cedary, high acid finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 80 157 2342 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

From the biggest winery in Mexico, founded in 1975, this is a long-standing Vintages customer favourite, beloved for its value and for the consistency and depth of rich dark fruit, spice, leather and smoke it delivers. It's always a telling example of how well Petite Sirah shines in Baja California. Enjoy with meaty pizzas, a grilled steak or burgers. |
