CENT VIGNES BEAUNE 1ER CRU 2014 AP |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
DOMAINE BESANCENOT |
Medium deep purple red colour. Intense, slightly spicy, complex, faintly earthy, baked ripe cherry-plum puree nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, fairly intense, baked plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, high acid, gently cedary finish. This is a keeper and will age well. It has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
Thérèse Besancenot, with her brother Dominique, took over her father's property in 2006. They represent the sixth generation of the family to make wine there; a viticultural heritage dating back to 1850. Their domaine spans 25 acres over 12 appellations. Stephen Tanzer described Burgundy's 2014 reds as \"... delicious ... with alluring fruit, juicy supporting acidity, expressive terroir character, supple tannins and considerable early appeal ... [and] an attractive natural balance and elegance ...\" (vinous.com, Jan. 2016). |
