CRIANZA 2014 DO Ribera del Duero |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CONDADO DE HAZA |
Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, unappealing, slightly spicy, bitter, herbal, dusty, unripe, dried apple nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, intense, slightly spicy, peppery, dried apple flavours with some slightly earthy notes on the lingering peppery finish. This 100% Tempranillo spent 18 months in oak and is seriously disappointing. Tasted twice from two separate bottles. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number CR290417/18 on the back label. The recommended best buy 2010 (**+) with 89-points was released on April 18, 2015 at $24.95. |

TASTING NOTE: A dense and layered red with meat, chocolate, dried berry and walnut aromas and flavors. This has a full body and velvety tannins. A little old-school but what you expect in a wine from this producer. Drink now or hold. Score - 93 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, July 24, 2017) |
