CHÂTEAU HYOT 2014 AC Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, warm plum puree nose with some sandalwood-mocha-chocolate notes. Dry, medium bodied, very slightly herbal, intense, ripe plum and baked cherry flavours with a very crisp, mineral-tinged, mocha-chocolate finish. This blend of Merlot 60%, Cabernet Franc 20% and Cabernet Sauvignon 20% has 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. I have to admit that as tasty as this is, I would not have thought with all the smoky mocha-chocolate notes that it was a Bordeaux! The 2012 (**) was released on December 10, 2016 at $17.95.
