This non-vintage bubbly is made in a consistent style and will show similar quality and character even if the lot number differs from that cited in the review. TASTING NOTE: (75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay; lot 1C22318H119): Vivid yellow-gold. Ripe citrus fruits, honey, ginger and a hint of smokiness on the deeply perfumed nose. Sappy and seamless on the palate, offering juicy orange and yellow apple flavors and a hint of fresh fig. In a fruity, open-knit style, finishing with good breadth and cling and slow-building spiciness. Quite generous, even opulent for a no-dosage Champagne, with the heft, power and depth to work with rich foods. Score - 90 (Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, Jan. 2015) |
