PINOT NOIR 2014 Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SOKOL BLOSSER
Fairly intense medium deep red colour. Attractive, slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some elegant, rather cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, spicy, harmonious, plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, crisp, very faintly smoky, cedar driven finish. The 2014 is a great vintage and this tasty Cote de Nuits inspired Pinot Noir has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. The recommended best buy 2012 (***) was released on October 14, 2017 at $35.95. TONY ASPLER / 91-points / TRY - Lightly floral, cherry nose with spicy oak; medium-bodied, dry, firmly structured, red cherry flavour; well-balanced and firm. CSPC 748434

TASTING NOTE: In this exceptional vintage, the all-estate bottling over-delivers big time at this price. Brambly blackberry/kirsch flavors fill the mouth with sappy juicy flavors. The tannins are a bit stiff, and at first the wine hits a tannic wall, but more bottle age, aeration and/or aggressive decanting will open it up. The lengthy cinnamon-soaked finish hints at a stellar cellar life ahead. Score - 92 (Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2017) Price $ 35.95
