CHIANTI CLASSICO 2014 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ISOLE E OLENA
Medium deep red colour. Slightly spicy, attractive, ripe plum nose with some slightly spicy, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, fairly ripe plum-blueberry-cherry flavours with a crisp, sandalwood finish. Quite tasty without too much complexity. This blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo and 5% Syrah has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17.16 on the back label. Much better than the 2013 (**/**+) with only 13% alcohol that was released on March 4, 2017 at $29.95. CSPC 704346

TASTING NOTE: Fragrant and refined, this radiant red opens with enticing scents of wild berry, aromatic herb, dark spice, menthol and whiffs of tilled soil and pressed blue flower. Ethereally elegant and boasting great tension, the palate delivers succulent red cherry, raspberry, clove and a hint of licorice while vibrant acidity and polished, fine-grained tannins lend balance and support. Drink through 2024. Editors' Choice. Score - 93 (Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2018) Price $ 31.95
