Fairly deep red colour with a slightly ambering edge. Intense, spicy, fragrant, ripe black and red cherry nose with hints of sandalwood. Fairly dry, medium bodied, well structured, very ripe, tasty, Pinot Noir flavours with a gently juicy, ripe black cherry and cedar finish. A real ready-to-drink crowd-pleaser. Has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. Better than the recommended 2012 (**/**+) released on October 15, 2016 at $25.95. |

This historic California winery was founded in 1969 and helped put Carneros on the map. TASTING NOTE: Displays a trim, complex mix of loamy, dusty dried herb and berry flavors, with touches of anise and sage. Finishes soft and clean. Drink now. Score - 88 (James Laube, winespectator.com, 2016) |
