Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SILVER OAK |
Very deep intense purple colour. Very cedary, intense, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some coconut notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, dense, fairly bright, spicy, baked plum flavours with lots of cedary, intense, mocha-chocolate-coconut notes on the lingering, fairly high acid finish. This blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot has 14.1% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. The 2012 (***) with 92-points was released on November 25, 2017 at only $184.95. TONY ASPLER / 91-points - Intense, cedary, nose masking black stone fruit aromatics; medium to full-bodied, richly extracted plum and blackcurrant flavours, firmly structured but still tight. Hold five years at least. |
