ALAMOS SELECCIÓN MALBEC 2014 Mendoza |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ALAMOS |
Fairly deep purple colour. Fairly intense, spicy, juicy, black cherry puree nose with some gentle cedar notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, spicy, juicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, tangy, fairly high acid, cedary finish. Quite ready-to-drink. This REPEAT now has 13.8% alcohol (vs 14% for the previous shipment) and 4 g/L residual sugar. This crowd-pleasing, ready-to-drink new batch is better than the recommended 2014 (**/**+) with 88-points that was last released on November 11, 2017 at $16.95. You can safely ignore the dated, recycled, excessively high 92-point tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. |
