CHABLIS 2015 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE DE MAUPERTHUIS
Bright medium straw colour. Intense, somewhat peppery, mineral-driven, dusty, very faintly nutty, resinous, apple-lemon nose. Very dry, medium to medium-light bodied, somewhat tart, peppery, apple-lemon flavours with a somewhat leesy, high acid, austere finish. Not my style and is not showing all that well at the moment. Has 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 7113317 on the back label. CSPC 524298
Type White Table Wine

TASTING NOTE: Domaine de Mauperthuis is a boutique producer with one of the coolest vineyards in Chablis (temperature-wise, at any rate). This cool customer comes from 50-year-old vines and is fermented with native yeasts and aged in foudre. It has good weight and presence, with notes of citrus, peach and mineral and a driving acidity. A deft herbaceous note and a dash of tropical fruit add complexity and intrigue. This would be a pretty cool match for a seafood stew featuring mussels, scallops, halibut, fennel and thyme.
