COLD CLIMATE UNOAKED CHARDONNAY KP 2015 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
TZAFONA CELLARS |
Bright medium straw colour. Slightly spicy, toasty, ripe lemon-apple nose with some resiny notes. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, honeyed, somewhat oxidized, baked lemon-apple puree flavours with a lingering, mineral-tinged, faintly bitter, resiny finish. This unoaked, Kosher Chard has 13% alcohol and now 8 g/L residual sugar. A REPEAT of the 2015 (**) released on November 25, 2017 at $22.95. A pass for me. |

TASTING NOTE: This stylish Chardonnay is part of the lineup of Kosher for Passover Certified wines produced by Tzafona Cellars. It's golden yellow with notes of green apple on the nose. It's crisp on the palate with hints of lime and apple and a long citrus finish. Enjoy with lemon-poached chicken breast. Score - 89 (Dave Isaacs, winecurrent.com, Nov. 20, 2017) |
