TASTING NOTE: Hess is a go-to producer for those seeking restrained elegance in value-for-money wine. This showcases a balanced-on-a-pin Sonoma Cab with good structure and persistent purity of fruit at a reasonable price point. Aromas of baking spice and dark cherry/berry fruit translate to a medium bodied, well-textured stream of palate bathing flavours with black currant and pie cherry interlaced with minty notes and baking spice -- nutmeg, cinnamon and traces of ginger. It finishes balanced, long and mouth-watering good. Score - 4.5 Stars (out of 5) (Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com, May 22, 2017) Price $ 24.95
