TASTING NOTE: Another wine from this estate that reminds me of a Syrah from the steep slopes just outside of Hermitage, the 2014 IGP Cotes Catalanes Secret de Schistes reveals a terrific bouquet of ripe black fruits, olive tapenade and bacon fat. Full-bodied, ripe and downright sexy on the palate, it has more fruit and depth than most in the vintage and is a killer wine to drink over the coming 7-8 years. Drink date: 2017-2025.
