BRUT ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BRIMONCOURT
Medium salmon pink colour. Spicy, faintly honeyed, ripe plum-apple nose with some faint leesy, lemony notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, quite well structured, very slightly spicy, apple-lemon flavours with a lingering, crisp, effervescent, very faintly bitter finish. Has 12.5% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar. OK but not a detour at the price. CSPC 514364

TASTING NOTE: A wonderfully complete, stylish and tightly focused accompaniment to cuisine, this pristine Champagne sports a high percentage of GC fruit. Lifted by a whiff of potpourri, its complex, creamy and faintly meaty bouquet of red cherries, raspberries and underbrush reveals undertones of orange rind and mushrooms. It's long and crackly, with an austere but chewy palate of punchy pinot driven flavour extending long and faintly mineral over a fine, chalky spine towards a drying and savoury finish. Superb. Drink: 2017-2020+. Score - 96 (Jeremy Oliver, jeremyoliver.com.au, Dec. 19, 2016) Price $ 66.95
