RESERVA DE FAMILIA CARMENÈRE 2014 Rapel Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SANTA CAROLINA |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, very savoury, herbal, baked plum-apple nose with some pine Christmas tree notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, dense, well structured, baked plum-cherry flavours with a savoury, cedary, high acid finish. Not my style. This REPEAT has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L7268 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Part of the Fun Facts Spotlight with 10 items. |

This wine received 93 points in the 2017 Descorchados Wine Guide. TASTING NOTE: The dark, opaque and concentrated 2014 Carmenere Reserva de Familia manages what is difficult to achieve with the grape: freshness. It does have the cigar ash, roasted pepper and chocolate aromas of the grape, but the palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, good balance and that freshness. Drink date: 2017-2020. Score - 90 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017) |
