LAUNDRY VINEYARD CABERNET FRANC 2013 VQA Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE
Deep intense purple colour. Intense, spicy, dried plum-apple nose with some very peppery cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, very peppery, tight, plum-cherry-apple flavours with a lingering, high acid, gently cedary, fairly bitter, somewhat terse finish. Tasted twice and disappointed. Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. The riper preferred 2012 (**/**+) was released on June 25, 2016 at $31.95. CSPC 130997

Gold Medal Winner 2017 National Wine Awards of Canada. TASTING NOTE: Classic Canadian Cab Franc, which Tawse has done very well for years. This starts with typical varietal notes of bell pepper and red fruit, and has medium body, with the fruit carrying over onto the palate. It has a dry, food friendly finish, with firm tannins. An elegant red, great as an all purpose dinner wine. Score - 91 (Craig Pinhey, winealign.com, July 17, 2017) Price $ 32.35
