CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012 Napa Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SILVER OAK |
Very deep intense purple colour. Very cedary, intense, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some coconut notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, very bright, slightly spicy, baked plum flavours with some cedary, modest mocha-chocolate-coconut notes on the lingering, fairly high acid finish. Has 14.4% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. I have to admit that it ’s not quite my style. The 2011 (***) with 92-points was released on November 12, 2016 at $174.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Notes of dill, herb and vanilla bean-scented oak lead to an elegant array of dark berry, herb, cedar, gravelly earth and underbrush flavors. The tannins cling a bit, but this is an enjoyable and approachable youngster, with a track record for aging. Drink now through 2028. Score - 90 (James Laube, winespectator.com, June 15, 2017) |
