TASTING NOTE: As fans of Stratus winemaker J-L Groux well know, when it comes to blending, he is an unquestioned master. This is the top wine from Stratus, and the 2013 contains Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Sangiovese, Malbec and Tannat. Savoury and long with great balance and integration. This is ripe and dense, with raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, baking spice, plum, cedar and polished tannins. Enjoy tonight with rack of lamb or roast beef, or set it aside (if you can resist it) and follow its evolution for 8+ years. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2017) Price $ 48.20
