MARSANNAY 2011 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LOUIS JADOT |
Bright light straw colour. Very attractive, slightly spicy, mineral-tinged, gently toasty, key lime pie nose. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, very slightly spicy, ripe lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, high acid, mineral-tinged, faintly nutty finish. Located in the northern Cotes de Nuits just south of Dijon, this 15-year old Chard shows some maturity but it will still hold. You should try it with poultry - especially Poulet de Bressse. . Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 13472 on the lower part of the glass bottle. TONY ASPLER / 90-points / TRY - Graphite nose of apple with a faint minty note; medium-bodied, dry, apple flavour with a mature finish. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2011 Marsannay is a gorgeous, textured wine. White peach, almond, dried flowers and mint all flesh out in a generous, textured Burgundy full of near-term appeal. This is an especially generous, resonant Marsannay. According to winemaker Frederic Barnier a clonal mutation of Chardonnay in this parcel yields wines of unusual textural depth and structure. Drinking window: 2013+. Score - 90 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Sept. 2013) |
