ADELAIDE HILLS PINOT NOIR 2015 Adelaide Hills, South Australia |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MONTERRA |
Deep intense purple colour. Spicy, eucalyptus-tinged, stewed plum-cherry puree nose. Dry, medium bodied, tangy, herbal, Noxema eucalyptus flavours (love it or hate it) with some ripe cherry-plum-apple puree fruit and a lingering, high acid, cedary finish. Not my style. Has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L6134 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: The cool-climate Adelaide Hills is one of Australia's best regions for growing Pinot Noir. This wine has a nice earthy-and-floral nose and a palate showing spice, red fruit and a touch of olive. Nice intensity and balance. Serious value. Pour with beef-and-mushroom stew and beetroot salad.
