FARAON OLOROSO SHERRY DO
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HIDALGO
Light amber colour. Very spicy, honeyed, floral, dry Seville orange marmalade nose with some caramel notes. Very dry, medium to medium-full bodied, dense, intense, mouthfilling, Seville orange and lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, gently caramel-tinged, somewhat leesy, faintly dusty, somewhat nutty, very high acid finish. A bit of an acquired taste - I liked it! It may be a good idea to keep it chilled after it has been opened some as to maintain the freshness. Has 18% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L72902 on the back label. CSPC 471078

TASTING NOTE: Intense, with roasted almond, Brazil nut and walnut notes lending this a slightly burly aspect, while gunpowder tea, bitter orange and almond accents add a taut feel through the finish. This is a distinctive, edgy version that Sherry geeks will dig. Drink now. Score - 92 (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Feb. 29, 2016) Price $ 21.95
