LILY'S GARDEN SHIRAZ 2015 McLaren Vale, South Australia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TWO HANDS
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Fairly attractive, intense, spicy, ripe plum puree nose with lots of cedary notes. Fairly dry, full bodied, dense, well structured, intense, spicy, very ripe, plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, very crisp, sandalwood-cedar-mocha-chocolate finish. Perhaps a tad too much oak for my palate. Has 14.8% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 91-points - Cedary, high-toned blackberry nose with oak spicy; full-bodied, dry, elegant, blackberry and blackcurrant flavours with a floral note and balancing acidity; firmly structured. TASTING NOTE: This exuberant red bursts with flavors of clove, toasted coconut and dark chocolate that are thick and velvety, complementing the kirsch notes at the core, with a hint of fresh mint adding complexity. This is generous, with a finish that goes on and on. Drink now through 2027. Score - 94 (MaryAnn Worobiec, winespectator.com, July 31, 2017) Price $ 59.95
