Deep purple colour. Very attractive, bright, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some very faintly smoky, mocha-chocolate-tinged, cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, ripe black cherry-plum puree flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, fairly high acid, fresh finish. TASTING NOTE: A big, rich, black cherry, crushed rock and dried herb-driven cuvée, the 2014 Rasteau has surprising levels of sweet fruit, full-bodied richness and a balanced, clean finish. It should drink nicely for 5-7 years and is an undoubted success in this difficult vintage. Drink Date: 2016-2023. Score - 91 (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016) |
