| Very bright light straw colour. Faintly peppery melon-apple nose. Dry, medium-light to light bodied spicy, melon-apple flavours with a crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged, very faintly spritzy finish. Has 12% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with the same lot number L-C115-5 on the back label. Screwcap closure. A REPEAT of the 2015 (*+/**) was released on February 4, 2017 at $12.95. | TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Loureiro is unoaked and dry. It comes in at 5.5 grams per liter of residual sugar (completely balanced by the acidity) and 12% alcohol. Like its Avesso counterpart this issue, this has been seen before, but I was interested in seeing what would happen when the first rush of fruit died down. If anything, this is better now and a clearer step up on the lovely Avesso. That is mostly due to the firm core of acidity that gives this Loureiro precision, persistence, tension and focus. Showing fine concentration for the level, but more importantly, the freshness to lift the fruit, this sunny Loureiro finishes with lingering flavor as well as zing and zest. It is giving some evidence that it will hold for a few years, perhaps better than anticipated, but it is probably best drunk over the next year or two. It will be interesting to see if it holds.
