Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
JEAN-LUC COLOMBO |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, somewhat baked plum-prune nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, spicy, baked plum-cherry-apple flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, fairly high acid finish. This blend of 51% Grenache and 49% Syrah has 13.5% alcohol. |

TASTING NOTE: A strong effort from Jean-Luc and his team, the 2014 Les Forots is a nearly 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah. It offers layers of ripe fruit, ample weight and a supple mouthfeel, with just hints of garrigue for complexity and interest. Drink now-2022.
