LE PETIT CLOS DRY VOUVRAY 2015 Domaine des Aubuisières, AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
BERNARD FOUQUET |
Forward bright light yellow colour. Spicy mineral-tinged, floral, ripe lemon-apple-melon nose. Very dry, medium-light to light bodied, spicy, floral, ripe apple-lemon-melon flavours with a crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. Unfortunately, the bottle I tasted had a hint of cork taint - Tony tasted the better bottle. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BEST BUY - Medium straw colour; a nose of quince with a honeyed note; medium-bodied, off-dry with great balance between honeyed sweetness and mouth-freshening acidity. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Vouvray Sec le Petit Clos is very clear and finely aromatic on the nose, displaying perfectly ripe pineapple and yellow-fleshed fruit flavors, along with chalky and finest lemony notes. The wine is full- bodied, pure, intense and juicy, but also well structured and very mineral. This is another impressive, very persistent and finesse-full Chenin from Bernard Fouquet. The finish is compact and enormously salty, revealing great tension, complexity and an enormous aging potential. The chalkiness and tight structure is pretty Burgundian here. A great Chenin Blanc. Drink Date: 2016-2035. Score - 93 (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016) |
