THREE VALLEYS 2014 Sonoma County |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
RIDGE |
Deep intense ruby-purple colour. Gently spicy, fairly complex, warm ripe plum nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, very spicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with some faint hints of mocha-chocolate on the lingering, slightly spicy, cedary finish. This totally new 14.5% alcohol blend of 60% Zinfandel, 17% Petite Shirah, 15% Carignan, and 4% Grenache has 4 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 90-points / TRY - Cedary, floral, black fruits on the nose; full-bodied, dry, chunky mouth-feel, mouth-filling, firmly structured and well-balanced. Much better than the disappointing 2013 (**/**+) with 88-points that was released on March 5, 2016 at $35.95. |
