CUVÉE DIX-NEUVIÈME CHARDONNAY 2013 VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PEARL MORISSETTE
Forward deep yellow colour. Very leesy nose that has some complex, spicy, baked lemon-apple-melon notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, dense, intense, spicy, baked lemon-melon-apple flavours with a lingering, seemingly cedary, rather oxidative finish. Consistently not my style. The 2012 (**) was released on July 11, 2015 at $35.20. TONY ASPLER / 86.5-points - High-toned, spicy, apple puree nose with oak spice; medium to full-bodied, dry, richly extracted with oxidative flavours of apple and grilled lemon peel and a touch of bitterness on the finish. Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 303602

TASTING NOTE: (Not bottled yet, no score) - A completely different expression of Chardonnay from Morissette. Noticeable reduction with citrus, nougat and sweet subtle spices on the nose. The texture is gorgeous with spicy vanilla, pear and a tangy vein of citrus through the finish. (Rick VanSickle, winesinniagara.com, Sept. 14, 2015) Price $ 38.20
