PINOT NOIR 2014 BC VQA Okanagan Valley |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
QUAILS' GATE |
Medium deep red colour . Fairly intense, attractive, gently complex, slightly spicy, warm ripe plum nose with some cherry notes. Dry, medium-bodied, quite well structured, ripe plum-cherry-strawberry flavours with some crancherry notes on the crisp, high acid, very faintly smoky, cedar-vanilla finish. Has 13% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. A second bottle was a tad more restrained! The recommended best buy 2013 (***) was released on April 18, 2015 at $26.95. |

Recommended by Vintage Assessments! A Best Buy |
One of the leading names in BC Pinot Noir, Quails' Gate consistently delivers examples that combine approachable ripe fruit with finesse. Look for strawberry, raspberry and sour cherry aromas and flavours with an earthy undertone, and pair with barbecued chicken, root veggies and goat cheese. |
