Bright very light yellow colour. Intense, faintly nutty ripe baked lemon meringue nose with lots of toasty notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, ripe lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, complex, very cedary, mineral-tinged finish. A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
TASTING NOTE: This is a very attractive chardonnay that shows bright, vibrant fruit right through the palate. It's underpinned by a broad seam of clean, lively acidity, making the texture quite vibrant. There's some oak on the nose and palate, and it's well managed and co-exists with the fruit rather than interferes with it. You could cellar this five or six years, but I would drink it in the next one or two, while it holds its attractive freshness.
