Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, complex, spicy, intense, ripe cherry-plum puree nose with some cedar notes. Dry, solid, medium-full bodied, slightly spicy, tangy, intense, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, somewhat earthy, gently cedary, very faintly smoky finish. Better than the recommended 2011 (***) released on April 4, 2015 at $39.95. TONY ASPLER: 90 - TRY - Dense purple-black colour; smoky, herbal, black fruits and vanilla oak on the nose; full-bodied, dry, savoury and herbal with a creamy mouth-feel and balancing acidity. Has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 73072

Burrowing Owl's Syrahs are perennially powerful, rich, intense wines that offer tremendous depth and complexity to the aromas and flavours of black fruit and spice with mocha accents. They are also noted for their texture, balance and length. A great wine from one of BC's most recognized estates. The 2012 Burrowing Owl Syrah was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2015 Syrah du Monde in France - the only Canadian wine to earn a medal at this competition. Price $ 40.95
