ORUS CHARDONNAY/RIESLING/PINOT GRIGIO 2012 VQA Ontario |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
GILMOUR |
Bright light straw colour. Faintly honeyed, spicy, ripe apple nose. Dry, light bodied, slightly honeyed, light, clean, melon-apple flavours with a very crisp, unoaked finish. Both Tony Aspler and Intense, were disappointed with the first bottle sampled (85-points). This review is based on the preferred second bottle tasted. |

Hockey Hall of Famer Doug Gilmour personally selected the blend for this wine: Chardonnay at centre, with Riesling and Pinot Grigio playing the wings. Much like Dougie's style of play, the wine shows plenty of grace and character. TASTING NOTE: Very pale colour; minerally, grapefruit and white peach nose; medium-bodied, dry with a light floral note. Good length. Score - 88 (Tony Aspler, tonyaspler.com, A Wine Lover's Diary, Aug. 10, 2015) |
