Very deep intense purple colour. Youthful, intense, chocolaty nose with lots of sweet coconut. Very spicy, cedary, sandalwood, mouthfilling, sweetish, canned maraschino cherry flavours with a long finish. (TO) |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
This wine is a blend of 87% Petite Sirah and 13% Zinfandel. Producer’s note: Only recently has Petite Sirah been gaining popularity as a stand-alone varietal. Confident this trend will continue, to date we’ve planted over 90 acres, and are taking a leading role in the future of this wine. Our panel’s tasting note: Deep violet colour with aromas of black cherry and sweet oak. Dry to slightly off-dry, sweet-centred, rich, ripe wine with supple tannins. Medium full-bodied with a lingering finish. (March 2002) Food match: spicy Tex-Mex cuisine (producer). |
