PETITE SIRAH 2007 Rutherglen, Victoria |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
RUTHERGLEN |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, pipe tobacco nose with some stewed, plummy, mocha notes. Solid, dry, medium to medium-full bodied, slightly spicy, fairly extracty, baked plummy-cherry flavours with a fairly high acid, very crisp, vanilla-tinged finish. Screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Petite Sirah is a glass-coating opaque purple color. Dense and powerful, it has full tannin backed by more than ample fruit. All the right stuff is present, but it will take 10-15 years to become civilized. Score: 90+ (Jay Miller, www.erobertparker.com, Dec. 2009) |
