Tomatin is pronounced Tom-AT-in. In Gaelic, Tomatin means 'Hill of the Juniper'. Whisky expert Michael Jackson found this 12-year-old - currently the only malt they have released from this reopened property - 'smooth and velvety' with a mellow and round palate and a sweet pleasant refreshing mintiness on the finish. (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 5th Edition, 2004) |
