Medium golden yellow colour. Very attractive, gently peppery, smoke tinged, intense, leathery, gently peaty nose. Very fine, intense but elegant, bright, caramel-tinged, lifted ripe lemon-plum flavours with a lingering, slightly peppery finish. |

Tasting note: Colour: Dark amber. Nose: Pungent, sappy. Body: Big, with some dryness of texture. Palate: The flavours are so tightly interlocked at first that the whisky appears reluctant to give up its secrets. Very slow, insistent flavour development. All the components gradually emerge, but in a drier mood. Finish: Long, oaky, sappy. (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 5th Edition, 2004) |
